Banks share credit information ( 2003-10-22 14:15) (China Daily)
Altogether, 910 Beijingers who failed to repay their car loans on time will
have trouble borrowing more money from any of the 16 banks issuing car loans in
the capital, reports Beijing Morning Post.
A shared credit information system has recently been established by the 16
banks to track car loan debt, and the first batch of bad credit records
identified 910 "risky" debtors.
According to the records, these debtors have borrowed 1,094 loans from banks,
involving hundreds of millions of yuan.
Other credit information, including credit card data and home loan records,
will be added to the system in future, the report says.
