8-hour operation reduces boy's feet ( 2003-10-21 13:42) (China Daily) An eight-year-old boy born
with abnormally large feet has undergone surgery to have them made smaller in
Shenyang, capital of Liaoning Province, reports Xinhua.
Yu's feet were 31 centimetres long and 12 centimetres wide before the
operation, but following eight hours of surgery, they are now 25 centimetres
long.
Tian Lijie, Yu's doctor, said Yu's feet were still bigger than those of most
other boys his age, whose feet are usually about 17 centimetres long.
But the boy will no longer need to wear specially made shoes and his feet
will not grow as fast as before.
