Tibetan students learn on Net ( 2003-10-21 11:48) (China Daily)
The first batch of 39 courses taught by professors at Shanghai Jiaotong
University were opened to students of Tibet University via a long-distance
"classroom" on Sunday, Shanghai Morning Post reports.
Students who successfully pass the elective courses will earn credits at both
universities.
Cameras installed in the classrooms of the teachers in Shanghai allow
students in Tibet to watch and listen to the lectures via the Internet.
Shanghai Jiaotong University students may also study courses, such as Tibetan
Language and Culture, and Tibetan History, via Internet
classes.
