Alcohol overdose kills freshman

Zhang Yi (not his real name), an 18-year-old college freshman, died on Sunday
after drinking an excessive amount of alcohol, Shanghai Morning Post reports.
Zhang was drinking "Erguotou", a strong distilled spirit, along with several
of his classmates in their dormitory on Saturday evening.
After imbibing almost 1,000 milligrams of alcohol, he felt dizzy and lay down
to sleep.
His roommates took him to the nearest hospital at 10:35 Sunday morning after
they failed to wake him.
Despite doctors attempts to resuscitate him, Zhang was pronounced dead at
noon.
