An international training camp small hydroelectric projects started Monday in the capital of east China's Zhejiang Province, attracting 40 experts from 30 countries.

The 40-day training camp, organized by the Asia-Pacific Center for Small Hydro Power (APCSHP), has invited Chinese experts to instruct participants from countries such as Sri Lanka, Sudan and Romania on topics including feasibility analysis, operation and management of small hydro power projects.

Participants will make site tours of small hydro power stations in Shaoxing, Linhai and Deqing in Zhejiang Province.

In 1981, the APCSHP was established in Hangzhou City with the aid of the United Nations, aiming to train hydro power experts for developing countries and organize international technology exchanges.

The APCSHP has organized over 30 training camps involving over 600 people from 70 countries.
