2.4m yuan sought for anchor's death

The Beijing Chaoyang Court will next Wednesday begin hearing a case in which
the family of a former CCTV anchor died of a fall at a restaurant.
Beijing Zhangshengji Restaurant and Beijing-Zhejiang Hotel where the
restaurant is located, are the respondents, Beijing Star Daily reports.
Shen Xuhua fell from the stairs which had no banisters last August when she
was having dinner at Zhangshengji.
The family claimed that the there were no safety precautions and is asking
for compensation of 2.46 million yuan (US$297,000).
