( 2003-10-08 15:49) (Xinhua)

Four Chinese nationals arrested last Sunday in Indonesia's Jambi province for allegedly having fake passports have been freed, the head of the provincial immigration office said Wednesday.

Hu Xihui, Yang Chaorong, Hu Chuang Biao and Yang Xi Biao were freed on Tuesday after the provincial police and the immigration office did not find any violation, Djoko Susetyo was quoted by state news agency Antara as saying.

The four Chinese, who traveled from Guangdong province to Jambi to buy textile, were arrested at the Makmur Hotel on Monday at about 10 p.m., he said.
