Woman gives birth in street

A baby was "accidentally"
born on the lawn in front of Beijing Hotel east of Tian'anmen Square on National
Day, reports Beijing Youth Daily.
At about 11 am, a 30-something woman was found kneeling on the lawn, with
blood on her legs, and a baby boy lying quietly beside. A witness called medical
emergency service right away.
As the woman could hardly speak Putonghua, doctors did not know how the baby
was born and if it was a premature delivery.
The woman and the baby were said to be in a normal condition when sent to
hospital.
It is not surprising for people to give birth at home, but it is quite rare
on a street, doctors said.
