No special treatment for PhD candidates ( 2003-10-08 14:48) (China Daily) The Municipal Commission of
Development and Reform has said that newly-recruited civil servants with
doctorate degrees would not receive special treatment because of their higher
education background, reports Beijing Times.
The commission began to recruit 10 civil servants from 126 doctoral
candidates on Monday, the first time the Beijing government was recruiting
people with such high qualifications.
But the degree does not necessarily mean special treatment. They will be
treated on par with other civil servants, said Wu Guiying, spokesperson for the
commission.
