Chile, HK sign agreement on boosting trade
( 2003-10-01 11:40) (Xinhua)

Chilean National Chamber of Commerce, Services and Tourism and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) signed an agreement here Tuesday on the promotion of trade.

The agreement, built on the consensus between Chile and Hong Kong reached last July, is designed to promote exchange of products and services, and to make support programs facilitating frequent contacts between companies of the two economies.

The Chile-Hong Kong agreement was reached on the sidelines of a seminar, organized by the HKTDC and the ProChile organization, on increasing business opportunities in China's mainland and its Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

Both sides agreed to share information concerning the development of their respective economic and trade policies, exchange commercial applications, administer business contacts and provide assistance for the commercial missions.

Hong Kong represents an economy whose gross domestic product reached 162.6 billion US dollars in 2001, with a per capita income of 25,000 dollars.
