Personnel-aid scheme for Tibet to continue ( 2003-09-30 11:14) (Xinhua) The program to assign central
and local government officials to the Tibet Autonomous Region will be continued,
in an effort to further support this underdeveloped southwest China autonomous
region, according to a recent workshop held in Chengdu, the provincial seat of
Sichuan Province, southwest China.
The meeting was co-sponsored by the Organization Department of the Communist
Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and the Ministry of Personnel, to discuss
the implementation of the personnel-aid program over the years.
So far, three batches of officials have been sent to Tibet, and they have
helped greatly with the development of Tibet.
The fourth batch of officials will be sent to the autonomous region next
summer, according to the meeting. Most of them will serve as leading officials
of local CPC committees and government departments at different levels. Some of
them are experts in enterprise management, and technicians.
The fourth group will consist of about 800 officials, which would be about
the same as the last group.
