A 103-year-old man and his 98-year-old wife are still deeply in love after 84 years of marriage, the longest marriage in Sichuan Province, and, probably the longest all over the nation, Huaxi Metropolis News reports.

He Yuanting is the patriarch of five generations, all 72 of whom still live together.

His oldest son is 81 years old.

He, a famous village chief in his hometown of Xinjin, insisted on cooking for his wife, Xu Xiaozhi, every day before he turned 95.

He now suffers from poor hearing and failing eyesight, so Xu looks after him by reading aloud and chatting with him.

And just what is the secret to such a long and happy life together? "Long life comes from a peaceful mind,"said He.
