China wins women's javelin throw gold

China's Ma Ning won the women's javelin throw in the last day competitions of the Asian Athletics Championships on Tuesday.

A strong-built Ma unleashed a throw as far as 57.05 meters to win the gold, shadowing South Korea's Chang Jung-yeon who did 53. 23 in her best try.

Sri Lanka's Anne Maheshi Silver took the bronze in 50.18.

Meanwhile, Bilal Saad S. Mubarak grabbed the gold in the men's shot put final with 19.14 meters. His compatriot Khaled Habash Al-Suwaidi took the bronze in 18.57. Shakti Singh from India won the silver in 19.04.

In the decathlon, Uzbekistan's Vitality Smirnov came out the winner totaling 8,021 points, followed by Kazakhstan's Pavel Dubitskiy, 7,604 points. Uzbekistan's Pavel Andreev was third with 7,487 points.
