At 4:30 am on August 31, when Tang returned home after having played mahjong all night, he and Fu began to argue. In the midst of their quarrel, Fu threw a pair of scissors at Tang who was lying in bed. The blade hit Tang in the chest, and he was soon bleeding heavily.

Tang was rushed to hospital where he died. The blade had severed a major artery
