Police nab burglary suspect ( 2003-09-19 14:31) (China Daily)
A man thought to be the burglar who specifically targeted government institutions for the past three years has been arrested, reports Beifang Morning Post. Since August 2001, more than 20 burglaries had been reported by many government institutions or State-owned enterprises in Yingkou, Liaoling. The municipal government complex alone was hit three times. The break-ins always occurred on weekends and holidays, when most government buildings were usually nearly empty and not as well guarded. The crimes caused significant disruptions to the daily operations of the offices and enterprises, according to the government and the police force of Yingkou, who vowed to catch the burglar. A 32-year-old suspect, Xing Jiqing, was arrested last Friday.
