Bicycle repairmen nail brisk business ( 2003-09-19 14:13) (China Daily) Some bicycle repairmen are
believed to be deliberately spreading nails on roads near their shops, reports
Beijing Daily.
Zhang, who lives in the Changping District, rides a bike to and from work
every day along South Street.
A few days ago on his way home, his tyre went flat. He found two nails
sticking out of the tyre, but luckily, or so he thought at the time, there was a
bicycle repair shop close by.
But Zhang suddenly recalled seeing some of the repairmen spreading something
on the road. Now he knew they had been scattering nails.
The stubborn Zhang carried his bike home and fixed it himself. He said he
wanted to caution other cyclists to be aware of such
tricks.
