A drug addict used ordinary tap water in a urine test, momentarily confusing police, reports Beijing Times.

Wang, a suspected drug addict, was summoned to the police substation in Chaoyangmen last Saturday where a urine test for heroine came up positive.

But Wang insisted that there must have been something wrong with the test and pressed officers to allow her to take another one.

The result of the second test was negative, much to the surprise of the police. Upon recalling her odd behaviour just prior to the second test, a policewoman investigated and discovered her ruse.

Wang, pretending to have a stomach-ache, secretly replaced the urine sample with water while in the toilet.
