Love contract defines lovers' behaviour ( 2003-09-16 13:50) (China Daily)
Two lovers in Chongqing visited a law firm on Tuesday to ask attorneys to
draw up a "love contract" for them, reports Beijing Evening News.
Li Jun, 26, and his 22-year-old girlfriend Zhou Xuemei agreed to write rules
for various aspects of their relationship. They ended up penning 15 articles
outlining appropriate behaviour. The articles clearly delineate how the pair
will date, what they will do during a date, how to divvy up expenses incurred
during time they spend together and even what secrets they should keep about
each other.
If one party violates the above-mentioned secrecy rule, the other party has
the right to demand a certain amount of money as compensation, according to the
contract.
Love may be based on free will, but if two people sign a contract governing
their relationship, it is legally binding, said lawyer Cai
Xiangyang.
