Parading dingoes suffer heatstroke ( 2003-09-16 11:38) (China Daily) Four dingoes from Australia
suffered heatstroke during the 2003 Shanghai Tourism Festival parade along
Huaihai Lu on Saturday evening, reports Shanghai Evening Post.
The four dogs featured on the float sponsored by the Shanghai Wildlife Park
had recently been imported from Australia.
And, they were part of a promotion to attract more visitors to the animal
preserve.
However, intense heat from lights on the float combined with car exhaust and
all the surrounding noise and excitement caused the dingoes to become ill.
After the parade, the four dogs were immediately sent to Ruijin Hospital
where they recuperated overnight under the care of the nurses on duty and
keepers from the park.
