Teenage boy jailed for stabbing love rival ( 2003-09-11 12:52) (Adolescent Delinquency)
A 16-year-old middle-school student has been sentenced to three and a half
years in prison by the Liwan District People's Court for stabbing a love rival
in the street, reports New Express News.
The boy, identified as Lan, saw a girl he used to date walking along with a
boy surnamed He last October 8.
After summoning three friends, he caught up to the pair and started an
argument with He. In the jostling that ensued, Lan took out a knife and stabbed
He until he collapsed in a pool of blood. He was seriously injured but survived.
Lan was later arrested at his home.
The judge mitigated Lan's punishment, considering the fact that it was a
crime of passion and that Lan was underage.
