Well diggers find 64 cannon-balls ( 2003-09-10 12:35) (China Daily) A total of 64 cannon-balls
were dug out of the courtyard of a farmer's home in Xinhua Village, Fengbang
Town, in the Jiading District on Sunday morning. Experts have not yet determined
the origin of the antique armaments, www.eastday.com reports.
Zhou, the 54-year-old owner of the property, said she was planning to dig a
well in the courtyard.
At about 8 am, workers found a rusty cannon-ball buried 70 centimetres deep
in the ground. They called police soon after.
By 6 pm, a total of 64 cannon-balls, each with a circumference of 30
centimetres and 10 centimetres in diameter, had been
unearthed.
