Education exhibition scheduled ( 2003-09-10 09:49) (China Daily)
The 2003 China International Education Exhibition will be launched in October in Beijing and Shanghai. Meanwhile, the Fourth China International Forum on Education will be held in the capital as well. According to sources with the China Education Association for International Exchange, a nationwide non-governmental organization which is sponsoring the event, at least 200 universities from home and abroad will attend the exhibition and nearly 1,000 professionals will be available for consultations for people interested in studying abroad. As one of the highlights in this exhibition, there are eight state-level educational organizations from countries including Germany, Australia, South Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, France, the United Kingdom and Canada, which have encouraged local universities and colleges to participate in the exhibition as a group. "Co-operating with state-level educational organizations is one of the steps we took to bring more accurate information about authentic foreign universities to our people who want to study abroad," said Zong Wa, a senior staffer with the association. He said that the exhibition's organizing committee is doing everything to ensure no fake foreign universities gain access to the exhibition, since more and more people in China are wary of being cheated in recent years.
