Longer outpatient service hours ( 2003-09-09 12:35) (China Daily)
Eight hospitals in Shanghai recently announced longer outpatient service hours, reports Shanghai Morning Post. Previously, outpatient service at public hospitals in the city was available from 7:30 am to 11:00 am and 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday, overlapping the working hours of most office employees. And the majority of hospitals did not offer outpatient services over the weekend either. Party Secretary Chen Liangyu said the problem was common to all public welfare sectors and called for a change. Eight hospitals are taking the lead to expand service hours for the convenience of the public. |
