Gambling addict attacks brother ( 2003-09-05 14:26) (China Daily)
A man attacked his younger brother with a kitchen knife for advising other
people not to lend him money, reports www.eastday.com.
Huang asked his mother to borrow 1,000 yuan (US$120) from his sister for him
on July 7. But his sister refused, saying Huang was addicted to gambling and had
cheated several other people out of money to support his habit.
The following day, Huang and his mother and sister gathered at the younger
brother's home.
His brother, knowing of Huang's loan request, said he was very angry and had
cautioned others not to give him any money. "Leave him alone and just let him
die," said the younger brother.
The frustrated Huang then grabbed a kitchen knife and took a swipe at his
brother. But the younger brother jumped out of the way before Huang could strike
him, and his sister called police.
