Disabled student enters Peking U ( 2003-09-05 13:43) (China Daily)
A physically disabled student registered for his first semester of classes at
Peking University on Wednesday, reports Beijing Star Daily.
Wang Zhenyu lost the use of his legs at the age of five following a traffic
accident near his home in Sichuan Province.
Peking University's admission office said the school never refused students
with disabilities. As long as they qualify academically and their physical
condition does not interfere with or impair their studies, they will be
admitted.
Wang scored 617 on this year's National College Entrance Examination, 13
points higher than necessary to qualify for admission.
