A burglar fell asleep twice on the balcony of a flat he broke into on Tuesday. But the second time he woke up, he came face to face with the owner, reports Beijing Times.

Fan Husheng climbed onto the balcony of a flat in the Guanyingyuan residential area at about 1 am and lay down to sleep until morning, when he planned to make his move.

After the flat's owner left for work at about 10 am, Fan crept into his rooms and packed a Walkman, a digital camera, a necklace and several other items into a box. He then returned to the balcony for another nap.

But when he tried to climb into the bedroom through a window later on, he saw the owner lying on the bed, glaring at him. Fan tried to escape but got caught in the protective barrier around the balcony.
