China to establish national epidemic SARS sample data bank

September 1, Chinese Ministry of Health issued a notice for establishing the national epidemic SARS sample data bank and the bank of virus rains. This is for making full use of the samples of SARS epidemic collected and reserved by medical and scientific institutes nationwide and the recently separated rains of the corona virus, thus preventing the drain of them or the infection of medical workers.

According to the notice, Institution for Prevention of Infectious Diseases under China Center For Disease Control & Prevention, Guangdong's Center For Disease Control & Prevention, Beijing's Center For Disease Control & Prevention and Military Academy of Medical Science are selected to take care of the samples. Institute of Virus Disease Prevention, Military Academy of Medical Science and National Institute For the Control of Pharmaceutical & Biological Products will be in charge of tending to the bank of virus rains.

The samples in the data bank consist of the blood, the serum, the phlegm, the urine and the feces and so on; the rain bank includes the new corona virus separated from humans, animals and the environment or the similar viruses.
