Man, 70, is city's oldest driver ( 2003-09-02 10:50) (China Daily)
A local man who will turn 70 in three months is likely to be the oldest
driver in the city to hold a "Z" licence now that the age limit has been
extended from 60 to 70, Shanghai Morning Post reports.
Although the man declined to identify himself, he was among the first batch
of students to take the preliminary examination before driver training begins.
The "Z" licence is specifically designed for older learners and those
suffering lower left limb problems. Those who pass may drive small or
medium-sized sedans with automatic transmission.
Seven driver training schools currently operate in
Shanghai.
