Shanghai's 40,000 taxi drivers are finding it hard to get a decent meal
"legally" these days, Oriental Morning Post reports.
Restaurants in Shanghai that used to supply meals to drivers have been
forbidden from doing so by the traffic administration.
It is not known whether any continue to operate in spite of the law.
As a result, taxi drivers end up subsisting on an unhealthy diet of bread and
cakes behind the wheel to avoid fines for violating parking regulations, as they
are no longer allowed to stop in front of restaurants.
According to citizens, said police, the temporarily parked taxis blocked
traffic and made driving difficult. |
