1.19m yuan for student's fall ( 2003-08-26 11:40) (China Daily)
The Haidian District People's Court last Tuesday ordered a college to pay
1.19 million yuan (US$143,000) to a student who was disabled in a fall from a
classroom building, reports Beijing Times.
The victim, Han Shuqian, entered the Beijing Business Administration School
in 2001 to study English for international trade.
Last July 11, Han was watching a quarrel in another building from her perch
on a second-floor balcony when the railing gave way and she fell to the ground.
She was seriously injured in the accident.
