Imitation Olympic T-shirts confiscated ( 2003-08-21 13:39) (China Daily)
The first batch of T-shirts found bearing counterfeit 2008 Olympic emblems
were confiscated from Shanghai's Xiangyang Market, well-known for stores selling
imitation brand name products.
A storekeeper surnamed Wang purchased 20 of the T-shirts from someone in
Beijing and was selling them for 30 yuan (US$3.60) at the market, Oriental
Morning Post reports. Genuine Olympic T-shirts cost about 100 yuan (US$12) each.
The store has been closed for two weeks, and the owner was
fined.
