'Cancer' T-shirt causes trouble
( 2003-08-15 14:54) (China Daily)

A woman told Chutian Metro News on Wednesday that she objected to a T-shirt her child bought recently, on which the English word "Cancer" was printed.

The child's teacher first spotted the name of the deadly disease on the shirt, said Wu, who later asked Baleno, the shop selling the item, to refund her money.

Store manager Lu explained to the newspaper that the T-shirt was one of a newly launched line of products featuring the 12 signs of the western zodiac, Cancer, meaning "the crab", being the fourth sign.

He said he did not realize the word also meant a disease, but promised to pass the complaint on to superiors.
