Thieves cash in at toilet in bus station ( 2003-08-14 10:47) (China Daily)
A toilet near a long-distance bus station in Yibin, Sichuan Province has
become a gold mine for several thieves who target travellers stopping to use the
facilities, reports Huaxi Metro News.
He, who often travels between Zigong and Yibin on business, said he has been
robbed in this way a dozen times in the past two months.
The thieves usually wait at the crowded entrance to the toilet, where they
use a 30-centimetre-long pair of pliers to extract wallets from the bags and
pockets of people waiting in the queue. Many migrant workers have lost their
hard-earned wages there, said nearby residents.
Police said they have tried repeatedly to get rid of the thieves, but they
always returned again.
