Australian education festival to be held in HK ( 2003-08-08 14:44) (Agencies) The 2003 Australian Education Festival is to be held in Hong Kong between August 15 and 17. According to a press release from the Australian Consulate-General Hong Kong, some 97 leading Australian Education institutions will attend the largest ever Australian education show internationally. Australian representatives will be available to discuss students' education needs and to answer questions about studying and living in Australia. Seminars on education options at postgraduate, undergraduate, high school and primary school levelswill be conducted by Australian academics and student counselors, providing students with the necessary information to make the right education choice. Other seminars topics include vocational training, English language, tourism, engineering, design and health studies. Over 25,000 Hong Kong people are undertaking both on and off-campus studies with Australian institutions this year. Australia's pioneering electronic visa system, eVisa, provides most Hong Kong Special Administrative Region passport holders withthe facility to apply for student visas to Australia over the internet. The Australian Consulate-General will be demonstrating the e-visa system at he festival. The Australian Education Festival is organized by the Australian
Counsulate-General through its trade promotion division,Austrade, and is
sponsored by Qantas Airways, Central Equity and the Education section of the
Consulate-General.
