A migrant worker from Anhui Province has been sentenced to death for murdering her neighbours, an elderly couple who would not loan her money, according to Xinmin Evening News.

Shen Wencui first attacked the female victim, Fan, while she was home alone, by hitting her with a chair and suffocating her with a pillow. She then bashed Fan's husband over the head with a stick when he returned to the house.

After covering the victims heads with plastic bags, Shen fled.

Shen's husband was sentenced to one year in prison for harbouring Shen after the murder.
