A computer science major whose finger was bitten off by a friend's dog is
having difficulty finding a job, reports Shanghai Morning Post. But the woman
received 33,000 yuan (US$3,975) as compensation. Zhang was bitten when she bent
down to use a drinking fountain that the dog was standing near.
The dog is not licensed and hasn't been vaccinated since 2000.
Although doctors initially reattached the finger, the surgery was not
successful and the digit had to be removed after two weeks.
