The Goldstone Deep Space Communications Complex, seen here
in the Mojave Desert in southern California in an undated file photo,
along with two other antenna array complexes, are expected to assist NASA
with their anticipated switchboard crunch in January that should tax its
ability to communicate with the world's far-flung fleet of robotic space
probes. One of those probes will be NASA's second Mars rover that was
launched Monday, July 7, 2003, in Cape Canaveral, Fla., after a two-week
delay. [AP] |
