Flooded railway from Tianjin to Pukou resumes normal service

The railway from north China's Tianjin City to Pukou of Nanjing, capital of east China's Jiangsu Province, reopened Saturday evening after its normal operation was halted for nearly 10 hours due to heavy rainfall.

During the past two days, continuous heavy rainstorms hit east China's Anhui Province, which made the railway section within the province's Chuxian County flooded.

The local railway administration decided to close to the section at 8"More than 200 soldiers and 460 workers from the administration were sent to work at the site of the flooded railway.

At 7:21 p.m., the railway resumed normal service as the rescue work finished.
