A 12-member joint working group composed of experts from the World Health
organization (WHO) and officials from China's Health Ministry arrived here
Tuesday on a 10-day survey to witness SARS control and treatment work in the
Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. These experts, who had their body temperatures
taken upon arrival at the airport and their hotel, spoke positively of the
practice.
The WHO lifted last Friday the travel warning against Tianjin, Hebei, Shanxi
and Inner Mongolia.
On Tuesday afternoon, experts heard briefings on local SARS prevention and
control work, which left Dr. Johan Giesecke, one of the experts, with a deep
impression.During their stay here, experts are expected to learn about Inner
Mongolia's experience in this regard and future measures and confer with local
medical workers. Before arriving here, the WHO experts had visited Guangdong,
Beijing, Shanghai, Hebei, Guangxi, Anhui, Henan and Tianjin.
