Global express delivery giant Federal Express was recently approved to conduct international business in Dalian, a tourism resort and port city in northeast China's Liaoning Province, following DHL, UPS and TNT.
Prior to entering Dalian, world leading express delivery companies were already providing international service for some major cities such as Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou.
These companies have successfully captured the business potential in Dalian, an important window on northeast China to the world, as more people in the region favor express delivery, said experts.
Statistics from the local customs bureau show that 908,000 items of express delivery entered and left China through Dalian in 2002, up 27.5 percent from the previous year.
