Guangzhou cracks down on drug smuggling Police at railway stations in south China's Guangdong Province uncovered 351 narcotic-related criminal cases and seized 8,000 grams of narcotics by the end of August after a six-month crack-down. Police heightened their efforts at platforms, entrance gates and ticket checking centers of the Guangzhou Railway Station. On April 11, police officers detained two men, Wu Fudong and Chen Guoshou, at the Guangzhou Railway Station, seizing 150 grams of heroin. The two confessed that the heroin was given by another man named A'zhong. Later, police went to the home of A'zhong, a native of Macao, in Zhuhai City and seized 15 pills of the amphetamine ecstasy, known as the "head-shaking pill" in China. The police also found a narcotics processing center and a sales center, seizing 300 grams of heroin and detaining six people involved. The case is still under investigation |
