Box office idol Tom Cruise kept his fleet of planes and country retreat in his divorce settlement with ex-wife Nicole Kidman, who won mansions in California and Australia, People magazine said.

Details of the couple's secret divorce settlement, which was finalized on November 12, appeared in this week's edition of the celebrity weekly, which reported the pact was sealed with a warm embrace instead of angry words.

"Everyone was pleased and happy, maybe even a little warm and fuzzy," Kidman's lawyer Sorrell Trope told the magazine in an exclusive interview.

The superstar couple, whose joint fortune is estimated at 350 million dollars, were divorced three months ago after their 10-year marriage fell apart in February is a public storm of acrimony.

But the last hurdle in ending their celebrated union went off amicably on a rainy evening in Los Angeles, producing an agreement both stars are reportedly happy with.

Under the settlement, qualified pilot Cruise retains control of his three aircraft, a 28-million-dollar Gulfstream IV jet, a 1.2-million-dollar Beech F90 and a 100,000-dollar Pitts S-2B training plane.

He also gets custody of the couple's 10,000-square-foot (900-square-meter) country home in Colorado, which comes with stunning mountain views and 280 acres (112 hectares) of land, a tennis court and nanny's quarters.

Australian-born actress Kidman won control of the family's two main homes -- a 4.3-million-dollar house in the plush Los Angeles suburb of Pacific Palisades, and a four-million-dollar harbourside mansion in Sydney.

The couple agreed to joint legal and physical custody of their children, Isabella, 8, and Connor, 6, who will live alternately with each parent in both the United States and Australia, People said.

While "Moulin Rouge" star Kidman, 34, loses the family's fleet of planes, she will be allowed under the divorce settlement to use Cruise's jet whenever she travels with the couple's children.

Kidman will be able to take the youngsters to her native Australia when ever she chooses.

Kidman and Cruise, the 39-year-old star of "Mission Impossible" and "Top Gun," will continue to make joint decisions about their children's education and religious upbringing, the magazine said.

They attend private schools in Sydney, receive home schooling in Los Angeles and have private tutors whenever they accompany their parents when they are filming on location.

"Nicole is relieved that everything is finally over and that she and Tom will have some kind of amicable relationship," People quoted a friend of Kidman's as saying.
