Germany wins European women's football title Germany won the title of the European Women's Football Championship title after beating Sweden 1-0 at Ulm, Germany, on Saturday. It was Germany's fifth European title since 1989. Center-forward Claudia Muller scored a golden goal in the extra time to give Germany the title. Muller's winner came at the 98th minute when she was put clear with a precise pass from Bettina Wiegmann and she beat Swedish goalkeeper Caroline Jonsson with the shot.
