The 60,000th Passat, the third generation of the Santana series manufactured by Shanghai Volkswagen, rolled off the production line on Tuesday, further consolidating the automaker's position in the domestic middle- to high-end auto market. The company sold 103,000 units, including Santana, Santana 2000 and Passat, during the first five months of this year, posting a year-on-year 45 per cent growth and grabbing more than 37 per cent of the domestic auto market.
