Joint action against cheating on statistics

Three government departments are co-operating to crack down on cheating in statistics, Xinhua News Agency reported yesterday.The Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Supervision and the National Bureau of Statistics held a telephone conference on Monday on a plan to launch an inspection of the implementation of the Statistics Law by government departments on various levels. The general director of the National Bureau of Statistics said any people or department which has given false information to gain merit or money will be punished seriously.
