Austria Technologie & Systemtechnik AG (AT&S) is set to widen its presence in the fast-growing Chinese market by launching a 400-million euro (US$352 million) plant in Shanghai. The plant will be the sixth production site of AT&S worldwide. The rest are found in Austria, Germany and India. When the construction of the new facility is finalized in 2004, the output capacity will be 40 to 50 million mobile phone cards every year, generating a turnover that accounts for nearly 20 per cent of AT&S' global revenue, a company source said.
