Shanghai began construction on a nanometre project at Shanghai University on Monday as part of its move to push forward the city's nanometre industrialization. The project, to be completed by the end of 2006, will cost 1.8 billion yuan (US$217 million) in investment with a space of 600,000 square metres. It will include a nanometre technology development centre, a pilot centre.
