Programming contest cultivates talents for IT industry
The final competition of the 5th China Collegiate Programming Contest (CCPC) was held at the Communication University of China from November 15th to 17th in Beijing.
Over 7,000 college students from more than 470 colleges and universities participated in a series of competitions.
Ultimately, a team from Tsinghua University won the championship and teams from Nanjing University and Zhejiang University won the second and third places respectively.
Altogether, 13 teams won the gold award while 23 teams and 33 teams received silver and bronze awards.
Sponsored by the computer science instruction committee under China’s Ministry of Education, the CCPC is an annual academic competition for college students nationwide.
Since its launch in 2015, the competition has attracted more than 20,000 college students and 1,500 coaches from over 600 universities around the country. The influence of the competition has been expanding, as it cultivates and singles out a large number of talents for China’s IT industry.
