The approaching 2012 Central China Investment and Trade Expo will attract international capital and talents to inland areas and boost the development of high-end industries, officials said on Wednesday.

The expo, to be held from May 18 to 20 in Changsha, capital of Hunan province, is "the most influential fair in Central China and will accelerate the concentration of manpower and technology to the central area as well as drive international capital and coastal industries to move inland", said Yang Yihang, deputy director-general of the investment promotion agency under the Ministry of Commerce.

He Baoxiang, vice-governor of Hunan province, said that the host province "will focus on the development of high-end industries, including electronic information, biomedicine, new materials, engineering machinery, logistics and tourism".
