Guzhang Maojian tea is a famous tea with a long history and unique features. It was a tribute to the imperial court in the Tang and Qing dynasty.
The tea is meticulously processed with eight procedures and the tea buds are picked before the Tomb-sweeping Day. When made in boiled water, the tea looks yellow-green, and tastes refreshing. It was exhibited at the Leipzig International Expo in Germany. Since 1980, it has been noted as a name brand tea of Hunan province five times.
In 1982, it was named a national famous tea by the Ministry of Commerce in a national tea appraisal activity in Changsha city, Hunan province. In the same year, the tea was also awarded a certificate of quality tea by the Ministry of Foreign Trade.
